River and Fish develop innovative engineeering solutions which protect fish.
Traditionally the design of infrastructure in our waterways has focused on the physical properties of water. Our approach is to undertake design that also accounts for environmental and culturual values to provide better outcomes for the waterways and especially freshwater fish.
The focus of much of our work is river engineering and protection of freshwater fish.
This includes Fish Screen facilities, fish passage and river engineering especially for hydrop power and irrigation industries.

We have experince and expertise in all stages of the development of fish screen facilities from developing concepts, consenting, design, construction and operation. We have experience from working on over 50 fish screen sites and helped develop the current best practice guidelines 2023.

Fish passge both upstream and downstream at structures are both imprortant in maintaining the health of our fish. We have experience in assessing and designing solutions at all structures in our waterways including culverts, weirs, dams, fords, pump stations and tidal gates.

We provide assessment and design of river intakes, river engineering and hydraulic design for various infrastructure for irrigation, hydro power and water supply.
